Modisme Favourite FROW Looks From London Fashion Week

Feb 25 2018by Kate Russell

This year, London Fashion Week was evermore overrun by celebrity royalty. From supermodels to Hollywood stars, for four days London became a true melting pot of fashion and glamour.

The celebs sitting front row at fashion week often grab more headlines for their stand-out looks and bold fashion choices than the runway models themselves. Steering away from women’s latest clothing trends and often setting future trends of their own, the London FROW elite were in full force this year.

Here, we have curated a selection of some of our favourite fashion-forward moments from the London shows, choosing looks with style, creativity and always a with a modest edge.

Jourdan Dunn ruled supreme at the Burberry show in cobalt blue. With a top-to-bottom printed one-piece, layered with oversized wool coat, the model ensured she got her moment while entering the show. Peeking over miniature, of-the-moment sunglasses, Jourdan looked every inch the modern-day supermodel.

Jenna Coleman opted for a classic Erdem look at this year’s show. Pairing the full and high-waisted, floral maxi skirt with a short-sleeved, white shirt, the actress accessorised simply with just strappy, platform heels and hoop earrings.

Trench coats with a twist are huge for spring and summer this year and Caroline Vreeland, opted for bold royal blue paired with coordinating wide-leg trousers. Our Modisme stylists love the statement waist belt to really cinch in and exaggerate her curves, teamed with leopard clutch and minimalistic pointed courts in mauve.

Nicola Roberts hit the headlines when she collaborated with modest dresser and YouTuber, Nabiilaabee for the BBC and her modest influences have clearly taken a long-term hold. The ex-pop star exuded 70’s glam in zig-zag printed trouser suit, complete with flares and ruffle details at the Henry Holland show.

Model and It-girl, Irene Kim shone at this year’s Mulberry show. Blending windbreaker, sportswear and sequins into one dress, she styled the look with thigh-high, leather lilac boots with chunky, block heels and a perfectly clashing Mulberry Amberley bag in lipstick red.

Olivia Palermo is always a modest style icon and at London Fashion week she didn’t let us down. We’ve had to select two of our favourite looks from the reality TV star turned fashion maven, as one just didn’t cut it. At Preen, Olivia transformed sports luxe into evening wear with this front-zipped burgundy midi dress, teamed with nude, slouch ankle boots. She was dressed in her signature style for the Markus Lupfer show, rocking the spring utility trend in an ankle length khaki skirt with lots of volume

Alexa Chung jumped on the trench coat trend with this statement jacket from Burberry at their London show. Keeping the rest of the outfit super casual in wide-leg jeans and graphic tee, the trench was the pinnacle of this look,

Finally, Rachel Zoe bought Studio 54 and this spring’s bedazzled trend to the shows. At Tom Ford, she opted for a shimmering metallic trouser suit with exaggerated flares and finished with a throw-over burgundy fur. We absolutely love the glamour of this look.
